defaced USPS stamps on appropriated postcards mailed through the United States postal system
4 x 6 inches

Forever is an action where appropriated postcards are mailed through the U.S. postal system to the exhibition venue with a defaced USPS stamp reading “inEquality Forever.” Originally reading “Equality Forever”, the defaced stamps have been altered with a custom rubber stamp and ink to create a unique print on each stamp. The United States Postal Service deems defaced stamps invalid and will not mail if detected. Mailed to the exhibition venue in hope of going undetected, the specifically chosen postcards of Brooklyn and NYC depict images of Wall Street, gentrified neighborhoods, neighborhoods under the poverty line, the police, American flags, and the homeless, to collectively illuminate the spaces and bodies of the city which are exploited and which often goes unnoticed.
